Monuments

Majestic and imposing structures that inspire wonder and admiration. Mainly located in Paris or New-York. They are beautiful, they are grand, they stand tall. We love them for the way they take us on a journey through the centuries. Monuments evoke a profound sense of humility, making you feel like a tiny observer in the grand tapestry of human history.

An exquisite architectural style known as the ‘Haussmannien’ emerged in Paris between 1850 and 1870, characterized by its magnificent buildings adorned with long balconies. Typically, these structures grace the wide avenues masterfully designed by Baron Haussmann himself. However, what perplexes the mind is the presence of such a unique ‘Haussmannien’ building in an unexpected location: nestled along the illustrious 5th Avenue, just beneath the towering Empire State Building.

Title: Institute State Building

Year : 2023

Acrylic on canvas

The enchanting “Le Pont des Arts”, a beloved bridge in Paris, gracefully crosses the Seine River, connecting the illustrious “Louvre” to the “Institut” on the western bank, near the entrance of the “Quartier Latin”. As you feast your eyes on the scene, an intriguing sight catches your attention on the right side of the picture – a towering skyscraper boasting an exquisite Art Deco design. It seems that the iconic “Empire State Building” has crossed the Atlantic and found itself momentarily lost in the enchanting streets of Paris.
